How the map stays readable

Period and type filters apply before selection. Documentary presence (55%) and locally computed network structure (45%) guide ranking when graph metrics are available. Theme bonuses then apply, balanced across geographic cells and entity types. Network communities are algorithmic groups, not historical denominations. The map has a budget of 60 points, 20 labels and 8 selected-profile connections at this zoom. Additional candidates load on demand; the whole corpus remains searchable. Generic office relationships receive a lower display priority. Geographic anchors and date ranges may be proxies. Relationships use their own type and date priority.
